Some solutions suggest excluding Thunderbird from Microsoft Defender search parameters but I can't even figure out how to do THAT in Windows 10 (because I cannot find the name of the folder where my emails are stored and don't know the extension and it requires one or the other to exclude them). I've researched this error code but have found no resolution. But the "X" issue is: : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555. The Error Console lists a lot of "could not read chrome manifest" issues (only informational) and other assorted information. It will not check for new mail (as it previously did) and it will not download if I click "get messages". Now your system won’t try to download any attachments until you ask it to do so. Messages download quickly but are very slow to open, taking anywhere from 10 seconds on up for each message to load. Launch Mail>Preferences>Accounts and set the Download Attachments drop down menu to Recent or None. Since the Thunderbird upgrade my mail loaded slower and slower, and now will ONLY load when I have Thunderbird (not Windows) in Safe Mode, and then ONLY when I first enter the program. Mail is extremely slow in loading messages I am running macOS Mojave 19.14.5 on a 2017 iMac with a 3,6GHz Intel Corei7 processor and 16GB 2400 MHzDDR4 memory Mail is running extremely slowly. I have Thunderbird 46.0 now, and Windows 10.
